From Skills to Passion

During our journey, we've probably all come across somebody saying, "To be successful, you just need to follow your passion. Find something that you love and just pursue it." Most of the time, the person telling you that is someone who is already successful and wealthy. However, the advice I live by is this: find something you're good at, and passion will naturally follow.

Are Your Skills Aligned with Your Career Path?

On my journey, I encountered many people telling me to just follow the thing that I love, and after some time, I will achieve my goal. For instance, it was trying to be a rapper. Stop judging. I loved music, and I loved doing it, but I never really saw myself growing doing it. So I made a tough decision and stopped. Now, as I look back and have done some research about this topic, I can tell you: just because you love something doesn't mean it needs to be your career choice. I know that's hard to accept because media and celebrities are telling you the opposite, but hear me out. You don't need to stop, but maybe change your focus for your long-term career. Sometimes your specific skill set will not be enough to be ultra-successful in the thing you now love.

Your mission until Sunday / Discover your skills

Look at yourself and find things you're good at. Doesn't matter what it is. Inspiring people, helping people go through hardships, being creative — it doesn't matter. But find some things about yourself that are naturally easy for you. If you have found those things, keep thinking about how you can leverage those skills into a career or in which career those skills will be very useful. Once you find a career, progress and growth will come quickly because you're naturally good at it. This will inspire you even more, and you will feel like you're doing the right thing, increasing your chances of success significantly! A new passion will form!

If you are struggling to find your skill set or a fitting career, don't worry. On Sunday, I will give you 3 rapid solutions on how to find your skillset! Here's to productive days until Sunday!
